A U-turn won’t make up for the heartache, the knock in confidence, and the already lost university places. We are horrified by how the A-Level algorithm has disproportionately affected working class and BAME students, and are launching a mentorship scheme in response.
We will be offering a handful of year long mentorships for prospective Creative Writing students who have been adversely affected by the marking algorithm. Mentees will be paired with a Crested Tit Collective poet, who will offer monthly 1:1 writing workshops alongside support in reapplying to university if necessary. We will also be publishing a pamphlet of the writing produced during the scheme at the end of the 2021 academic year. Apply via: https://tinyurl.com/CTCmentorship
We’re also immensely excited to be partnering with Broken Sleep Books and The Babel Tower Notice Board to be able to offer a publication opportunities as part of our mentorship program!
